New Blog Stats

PEW_logo.gif found that blog readership in the U.S. jumped 58 per cent in 2004 to 32 million readers. Seven per cent of internet users, or 8 million people, write blogs but only ten per cent of these update their blogs daily. Most bloggers are men (57 per cent), 48 per cent are under age 30, 39 per cent have college or graduate degrees and 42 per cent live in households earning over 50 grand. Twenty-seven per cent of internet users regularly visit blogs, up from 17 per cent in February, and 12 per cent of these comment on the blogs they visit. So why is it that 62 per cent of internet users still have no idea what a blog is?
